Faust or Faustus .
So Faust is actually a protagonist of a classic German legend. One who makes a pact with the Devil in exchange for knowledge and Faust's tale have been used in many literary, artistic and musical works. The meaning of the word is often used to describe someone who have a headstrong desire for self-fulfillment which often leads him or her to a diabolical direction. So in another words it actually means that when one have a high level of expectation and is often obstinate or stubborn, they will tend to come up with wicked plots to get what they want. hmm Mr Lim , is that what you wanted us to check on? ( im sorry if it's not. ) {SF}

A very long time ago, there was this Emperor in China who had a faithful Eunuch. His Eunuch served him faithfully for 30 years, and when he grew too old to serve the Emperor anymore, the Emperor told him kindly,"You have been a good eunuch to me all these years. I shall relieve you of your eunuchy duties and give you a rest. I will give you a thousand pieces of gold so that you will never have to worry about food or shelter. Work for me till the end of the winter, then I will let you go." The Eunuch was very pleased, for he was happy to finally be able to have a good rest. Seeing that the Emperor had hired another Eunuch to take his place, the old Eunuch started to think,"Since the Emperor already has that new young Eunuch, he won't find any use for me anymore." Therefore, the old Eunuch started to skive on his previous job, which was to clear the Emperor's poop in his bowl. The old Eunuch did not bother to clear the bowl anymore, for he thought that the new Eunuch should be the one doing it. A few days later, while the Emperor was pooping, he realised that the smell was terrible. He got up and peered into the bowl, only to discover that the whole bowl was full of his poop. It did not only contain the poop he had just pooped out; it was poop from many days ago! There were many maggots crawling about the bowl, and it was so disgusting that the Emperor vomitted into the bowl and fainted there. A week later, the Emperor was well enough to summon the two Eunuchs to his room. He demanded an explaination from the both of them, and the new Eunuch replied, "Your Majesty, the old Eunuch was supposed to work till the end of the month. You told me to observe what he was doing so I could learn." At hearing this, the old Eunuch was shocked. He cried, "Oh, spare me Your Majesty! I thought that all the duties were to be handed over to the new Eunuch!" The Emperor was so angry at the old Eunuch that he threw a vase and four words at him: He was hanged the next day. It means serve until you die.
Usually, 死而后已 comes after 鞠躬尽瘁。 Therefore, this line should be written as : 鞠躬尽瘁,死而后已。
