Congratulations to Peirce Wind Symphony for obtaining a Silver award of the National Band Competition 2010. We obtained a total of 78.33%, 1.67% away from Gold. We might be the (edit: 2nd) highest Silver there, but deep down in all of you, you know that you all are better than that. Don't get complacent with the Silver. I'm sure nobody is, because of all the screw ups all over the place. Maybe you guys were nervous, so you rushed. But remember what Mr Lim said. Treat this as a learning experience for us.
Nobody should be blamed for the screw ups. We are one band.
Now that you (and I) know the feeling of how is it like to get up on stage unprepared, I hope you guys change your attitude towards band. Do what Mr Lim says and you will be safe (but don't feel safe). Have some balls and stop hiding. Work hard consistently and you guys won't be so stressed up when any performance is nearing. A lot of other things I can say, but I can't really think at this time.
Now, get over that. The next event is the performance at the McRitchie Reservoir. Confirmed pieces will be Fire Dance, Blue Sky and Sunshine and Dancing in the Wind. No, don't moan. It's not like we perfected those two pieces. We will probably need another 3 or 4 pieces. One possible piece is A Disneyland Celebration. Download it here
Hm, seems like one part needs a slide whistle (?)
Okay, work hard band! (:
